Hasn’t time flown by? We’re almost half way through another eventful British GT season. Everyone I know was teary-eyed and excited for Round 1/2 at Oulton Park, the battleships were back! Bentley fielded two Continental GT3 racers and the Nissan GT-R returned with Sir Chris Hoy in the hot seat. I was excited… but I was also on Silverstone duties so I only made it up there for race day. Round 3 was next up, Rockingham Motor Speedway always provides an exciting race and this year was no exception. The two hour race saw Rob Barff and Gary Eastwood take top honours after a genius safety car strategy put them 40 seconds up on the rest of the field. Silverstone was the stage for Round 4, the 3 hour endurance is the longest race of the season. Usually this is a tough test for teams and drivers, you wouldn’t believe it though judging from the performance of Ahmad Al-Harthy and Michael Caine. The pair drove a flawless race leading almost from start to finish.
The series is heading to Snetterton next, unfortunately I’m not following. A calendar clash with the Nurburgring 24h means I’ll miss what is sure to be another great battle.
